The release of the original YJ MGC EVO was fairly disappointing. The cube didn't feel like other MGC cubes, suffered from a weak core, and had subpar performance. Due to these factors, it quickly faded away into irrelevancy. The YJ MGC EVO V2 is YJ's response to the original cube's lackluster performance - does it bring the EVO line back into the spotlight, or is it another flop?
Features
The MGC EVO V2 features a spring compression system with 11 settings, as well as adjustable piece magnets with 6 settings. Conveniently, the spring compression can be adjusted by hand and no tools are necessary.
Note: After adjusting the spring compression, the center caps need to be replaced in a certain orientation so that the tab on the center cap fits into the corresponding slot in the center piece.
The numbers on the customization systems can be difficult to read in a dim environment, but overall, the customization system of the cube is very easy to understand and use.
YJ opted for a fixed screw depth design similar to that of the Tornado V3, so the screw can't be adjusted as precisely. Although this usually leads to more accurate and uniform tensioning, it can also cause some problems.
"I found that a couple of faces on my tester cube feel like the screw depth is not even. This is somewhat annoying because the only way to combat the difference is to use different spring compression settings for different sides, which drives me crazy."

Although the cube offers 11 different spring compression settings, they're not significantly different.

Included with the cube are a storage bag, the magnet adjustment tool, and some pamphlets.
Durability
YJ literally ran the MGC EVO V2 over with a truck, and the cube survived, with the exception of a few caps coming off - so it's safe to say that this cube is extremely durable.
Despite the MGC EVO V2 feeling flexible and being somewhat loose, corner twisting is fairly difficult. In addition, the cube's pieces are very thick and are unlikely to break. The core was the primary focus of the update from the original EVO and is far more durable, solving the issue that made the V1 less appealing to many.
Solving Experience
The solving experience is quite nice. The color shades are easy to recognize and contrast well, the semi-gloss frosted exterior is standard and offers reasonable grip, and overall, the MGC EVO V2 has an enjoyable turning feel.
"Overall, the MGC EVO [V2] feels awesome and is one of my favorite cubes. I am a sucker for the buttery smooth turning and controllable feel. It is a bit strange that the cube feels loose, even on the stiffest spring setting, but I do not expect popping to be an issue on any setting."

However, the cube does have its weaknesses. Occasional lockups do occur, but aren't as significant of a problem as with some other cubes. Corner cutting is lackluster when compared to other cubes in the same price range, and even lower price ranges. Although both of these problems can be mitigated with more accurate turning, they are still something to keep in mind.
Setup
Interestingly, the MGC EVO V2 doesn't respond to lube very well. Setup does improve the turning feel and dampen the sound of the cube, but the difference is very subtle compared to other cubes, which usually change significantly after setup.
This might just be a reflection of how good the MGC EVO V2 feels out of the box, especially compared to other cubes of the same price range - although lubrication is still important, it doesn't have a drastic impact because the cube is already decent.
Sound
The MGC EVO V2 sounds great and is very satisfying to use, but it's certainly not one of the quieter cubes on the market.
Pro Tip: For parents who hate loud cubes, a heavier lubricant like Nebula can dampen the sound due to its higher viscosity.
Value
Unfortunately, the MGC EVO V2 doesn't have good value performance-wise. At €22.95, its mediocre performance doesn't justify buying it over a cheaper, better option such as the Swift Block 355S or the WR M V9 standard.
However, the cube does have some value in its turning feel.
"The satisfying turning feel is worth something to me, and if you really like a buttery cube, [and] price isn't an issue, then you might really enjoy this."

Conclusion
Although it has decent performance, the YJ MGC EVO V2 isn't a very competitive cube compared to others in its price range. However, it offers a smooth turning feel that doesn't require lubrication, which some cubers may desire.
